Leela James: Tell Me You Love Me

Con una voz ligeramente áspera pero acogedora, profunda y a la vez fascinante, Leela James posee el encanto y atractivo de cualquier amante del buen soul. Influencias de clásicos como Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder o Gladys Knight, comparada con Aretha Franklin o Chaka Khan, la realidad es que ella tiene un talento propio, repleto de buen soul como asi se puede apreciar en su single adelanto titulado "Tell Me You Love Me".
Una agradable balada soul que contiene un sample del clásico de 1978 de los Manhattans "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye".
El título del disco es My Soul, supone el comienzo de una nueva etapa con su debut para el legendario sello discográfico Stax Records, y aunque tambien cuenta con la colaboración de Raheem DeVaughn en la canción "Mr. Incredible - Ms. Unforgetable", se trata de un disco muy personal, donde retoma su faceta compositiva y nos muestra confiada y decidida su luz interior, la luz del faro que sirve de guía para el desembarco en la ribera del buen soul.
