The Jacksons: Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)

RandB, soul, funk, Pop, Country, Rock, disco..., hablar de los Jacksons es mucho más..., es hablar de una de las formacíones de música que más relevancia ha tenido en el siglo XX. Ellos se formaron a mediados de los años 60, tomando años más tarde -ya bajo el auspicio de la Motown- el nombre artístico de The Jacksons Five. La formaban un grupo de hermanos cuyo apellido daría mucho que hablar en los años venideros, sobre todo el de un "púber" de apenas 10 años llamado Michael Jackson, que despuntaba por su soltura y desparpajo a la hora de moverse y cantar. Pronto alcanzaron éxitos tan notables como "I Want You Back", "ABC", o "I'll Be There", pero ese éxito y la imagen de la formación fue poco a poco decayendo, y el férreo control creativo de la Motown no ayudaba a salir de ese bache. Fue así como una década después de su aparición, la familia Jacksons decide dar el salto a la discográfica CBS, cambiando su nombre artístico por el The Jacksons, y tomando igualmente las riendas del control creativo que tanto soñaban y les pudiera permitir seguir estando en lo más alto.

Y así fue, nuevos éxitos fueron aparecieron en su carrera discográfica; "Blame It on the Boogie", "Can You Feel It", "State of Shock", o este rítmico "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)". Una canción que me enganchó desde el primer momento que la escuché, y que cada vez que la escucho, no me permite permanecer inmóvil delante de la pantalla. Funky contagioso, ritmo deslocado para las pistas de baile, y un Michael Jackson transformado ya en lider indiscutible de la banda, enseñándonos sus armas musicales. Era  un adelanto de lo que iba a ser su transformación en solitario del artista. El gran revulsivo de los años 80 que lo llevaron a consagrarse en mito y  nombre sagrado de la historia de la música.
