"Night and Day" es una canción compuesta por Cole Porter en 1932 para un musical titulado "The Gay Divorce". Son muchas las versiones que se han hecho de esta canción en las voces de grandes standars vocales como Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday o Dione Warwick, pero mi profunda conexión con esta canción es la realizada por el grupo The Temptations en 1996 para su álbum For Lovers Only. Fue un álbum complicado en su realización por la muerte de Melvin Franklin, y significó tambien la última contribución para The Temptations de Ali-Ollie Woodson. Theo Peoples fue el encargado de poner voz a esta canción y demuestra un talento vocal y una emoción a flor de piel en la interpretación de esta canción. Son lazos invisibles de sensibilidad que cuando llegan a contactar con quien la escucha, te cautiva sin posibilidad de escapar.
Gracias Cole Porter por tan maravillosa composición; fluye nostalgia, alma, deseos, sentimientos,... hay algo en ella que se adueña de ti. Y gracias también a Temptations por estos cuatro minutos en los que me siento frágil e insignificante, pero a la vez tambien colmado de energía vital. Son esos momentos en lo que uno se siente empapado de emociones, y te das cuenta de que sin la música..., la vida no sería lo mismo.
